Guest MG Posted May 4, 2015 at 03:22 PM Report Share Posted May 4, 2015 at 03:22 PM The treasurer from our NFP club bid on a donated auction item- she is now saying she is going to write her check directly to the group the benefit was for and NOT to our club. Isn't this incorrect ? Shouldn't all the money raise go threw our club account ?
Chris Harrison Posted May 4, 2015 at 03:59 PM Report Share Posted May 4, 2015 at 03:59 PM Those are details that RONR doesn't go into and that should have been worked out prior to the auction.
Transpower Posted May 4, 2015 at 08:35 PM Report Share Posted May 4, 2015 at 08:35 PM I think her action is incorrect. Your club sponsored the auction, so the check should go to your club. Your club then donates the money (or whatever the agreed-upon portion is). RONR requires the treasurer to make a full financial report annually; this check and then the donation should be recorded there.
Edgar Guest Posted May 4, 2015 at 10:03 PM Report Share Posted May 4, 2015 at 10:03 PM One wonders what the treasurer will do with all the checks made out to the club. Or with cash paid at the auction. It almost seems like the treasurer doesn't trust the treasurer to do the right thing. But, of course, that makes no sense.
