Chris Harrison Posted May 27, 2015 at 02:10 AM Report Share Posted May 27, 2015 at 02:10 AM That depends on how the motion was presented to the assembly. Generally speaking there is only one vote on a motion but it might be possible for the motion to be divided or for a part of it to be considered through a proposed amendment. Can you provide more detail?
SaintCad Posted May 27, 2015 at 04:56 PM Report Share Posted May 27, 2015 at 04:56 PM How was the opposition expressed?Assuming the motion can be divided, was there a motion for the Division of a Question? If no, then one vote.Assuming the motion may or may not be divided, was there an Amendment offered? If no, then one vote. Was it during debate or just general conversation? If yes, then one vote. Gary Novosielski Posted May 27, 2015 at 07:02 PM Report Share Posted May 27, 2015 at 07:02 PM If during a special called meeting the members express their opposition to half the 2 part motion for the sake of unity does there need to be a vote.... The only way you would know if the members who expressed their opposition amounted to a majority opinion would be to vote.
