Chris Harrison Posted May 27, 2015 at 12:58 PM Report Share Posted May 27, 2015 at 12:58 PM Until the Chair has stated the question (putting it before the assembly for consideration) the motion maker can unilaterally withdraw it. From the point the question has been stated until voting has begun the motion can be withdrawn with the assembly's permission (requires a majority vote). After voting has begun it is too late to withdraw the motion. See RONR pp. 295-298.
Edgar Guest Posted May 27, 2015 at 01:00 PM Report Share Posted May 27, 2015 at 01:00 PM But any member can make a motion to rescind (not "resend") a motion that had been adopted at a previous meeting (though not all motions can be rescinded).
