Guest Guest Posted June 9, 2015 at 10:55 PM Report Share Posted June 9, 2015 at 10:55 PM Should rescinded motions be included in the meetings minutes. The same motion came up later in the meeting and was voted on and approved.
jstackpo Posted June 9, 2015 at 11:05 PM Report Share Posted June 9, 2015 at 11:05 PM Yes. Both the rescinding of a previously adopted motion, and the later (re)adoption of that same motion are actions by the association and both actions are to be included in the minutes. Edgar Guest Posted June 9, 2015 at 11:22 PM Report Share Posted June 9, 2015 at 11:22 PM Though the topic title refers to a "withdrawn" motion and that's a horse of a different color.
Bruce Lages Posted June 9, 2015 at 11:23 PM Report Share Posted June 9, 2015 at 11:23 PM In your topic title you mention a withdrawn motion, but then you mention a rescinded motion. Those are two different entities as far as RONR is concerned. If you are referring to a motion that was made at the meeting in question, but withdrawn before being made again later in the meeting, then only the second making of that motion would be recorded in the minutes. Normally, motions that are withdrawn, i.e., taken out of consideration before they can be acted upon, are not included in the minutes.
