bobby101 Posted June 16, 2015 at 10:19 AM Report Share Posted June 16, 2015 at 10:19 AM Gentlemen: Can someone provide me with the specific reference/citation in RONR stating that violations of an organization's by-laws are null and void. Thank you.

jstackpo Posted June 16, 2015 at 11:06 AM Report Share Posted June 16, 2015 at 11:06 AM But don't forget: It (whatever "it" was) can't actually be recognized and declared as null-and-void until a point of order is raised and sustained. And that requires a meeting.
bobby101 Posted June 16, 2015 at 02:05 PM Author Report Share Posted June 16, 2015 at 02:05 PM Mr. Stackpole: To your post 4 above. At my appeal hearing (a properly called meeting of the Board to hear my appeal) before the Board which was sanctioning me, I made this point and got no reaction or recognition from the Board as to its applicability to my situation. jstackpo Posted June 16, 2015 at 02:25 PM Report Share Posted June 16, 2015 at 02:25 PM Well, that is unfortunate. But about all that can be said is that the presiding officer wasn't doing things properly when he ignored (if that is what he did) your point of order. So the difficulties were just compounded. Gary Novosielski Posted June 16, 2015 at 02:37 PM Report Share Posted June 16, 2015 at 02:37 PM Mr. Stackpole: To your post 4 above. At my appeal hearing (a properly called meeting of the Board to hear my appeal) before the Board which was sanctioning me, I made this point and got no reaction or recognition from the Board as to its applicability to my situation. Do your bylaws actually grant the board the power to sanction non-board members? Since board is a subordinate body to the membership, that would surprise me. bobby101 Posted June 16, 2015 at 05:10 PM Author Report Share Posted June 16, 2015 at 05:10 PM To Mr. Stackpole: Yes, unfortunate is one of the words you can use but we've had 4 years of this kind of behavior (as the Vice President and then President) of not just doing things improperly but also violating the Club's by-laws as I've outlined in my various posts over the past 32 months. And, to Gary: Yes, per our by-laws the Board has the ability to sanction members of the Club if members are found in violations of the by-laws and for other kinds of behavior. My problem has been trying to drum up support to sanction the Board for their violation of our by-laws. Too many Timid Tommies and Scared Sallys. jstackpo Posted June 16, 2015 at 05:40 PM Report Share Posted June 16, 2015 at 05:40 PM Maybe Tom and Sally will screw their courage to the sticking place when election time comes around and you use secret ballots.
