parkourninja Posted June 29, 2015 at 11:50 PM Report Share Posted June 29, 2015 at 11:50 PM If a question is capable of standing as three separate parts, can one motion to divide the question divide it into 3 parts or only 2? Slightly related, if a resolution is being considered by paragraph and the previous question is moved and adopted, does it force a vote on the entire resolution as a whole at that point? It can be divided into as many questions as there are separate parts. Slightly related, if a resolution is being considered by paragraph and the previous question is moved and adopted, does it force a vote on the entire resolution as a whole at that point? Yes, although it does not apply to the preamble unless that is expressly ordered.

Does that mean in the scenario where there is a preamble, if the previous question in its unqualified form is adopted, the assembly would stop debate on the body and start debating the preamble before taking a vote on the entire motion?
