Guest Twp Posted June 30, 2015 at 12:29 AM Report Share Posted June 30, 2015 at 12:29 AM In the instance of a vacancy or otherwise can a married couple both hold an elected seat within a twp. The husband is a trustee and his wife was just voted in as the treasurer. The husband abstained from his vote during thr process. The supervisor and clerk (who are currently faciling recall voted yay) and another board member voted nay. Is this considered a conflict of interest considering the couple is married? There is no rule in RONR that would make it improper for a husband and wife to serve on the same board.(Unless you count the husband's personal interest in wanting to make sure he votes the same way as his wife. )

It's okay to vote "yes" or "no". We're not in the British navy.
