jvanceg Posted July 19, 2015 at 06:43 PM Report Share Posted July 19, 2015 at 06:43 PM Board of Directors plans to propose 6 amendments to Bylaws. After the motion is made and 2nd, the membership has 30 days before a vote is taken. Is it possible to make a motion that would treat each of the proposed amendments as separate motions so that if one of the proposed amendments does not have support, the remaining 5 could be approved? If so, how would the motion be worded? Thank you.

Edgar Guest Posted July 20, 2015 at 01:41 AM Report Share Posted July 20, 2015 at 01:41 AM But be careful that the adoption (or defeat) of one proposed amendment doesn't make the adoption (or defeat) of another proposed amendment, at best, meaningless or, at worst, contradictory. The bylaws are often a tangled web so amendments that appear to deal with "different subjects" might turn out to be inter-related.
