George Mervosh Posted July 23, 2015 at 02:23 PM Report Share Posted July 23, 2015 at 02:23 PM If an ordinance was read by the Mayor, and then discussion began on the topic and then a vote was called yet an official motion was never made does the vote still count? Yes. It seems as though they thought his reading of the ordinance was, in fact, making the motion to adopt it. A bit sloppy perhaps but nothing here to invalidate their vote from the few facts you've given us.
Timothy Posted July 23, 2015 at 02:30 PM Report Share Posted July 23, 2015 at 02:30 PM As Mr. Mervosh stated, it is sloppy, but it seems likely that everyone knew what they were voting on. If anyone did not, they should have asked at that time.
