Guest Gina Giambattista Posted July 24, 2015 at 08:35 PM Report Share Posted July 24, 2015 at 08:35 PM Does there exist in Robert's Rules a formal mechanism for a constituent to require a procedural review of any vote? Or another way, If a community member represented by the assembly challenges the process, not necessarily an outcome, but the process by which the Assembly conducted a vote, is there, recourse? Thanks very much~
Edgar Guest Posted July 24, 2015 at 08:40 PM Report Share Posted July 24, 2015 at 08:40 PM It depends on the nature of the procedural error. In most instances any objection must be made at the time of the alleged infraction. In some instances the error is so serious that there is no time limit. In either instance, a member would raise a Point of Order to the effect that a particular rule wasn't followed.
