Guest Linda J Posted July 29, 2015 at 08:31 PM Report Share Posted July 29, 2015 at 08:31 PM 1. If someone makes an amendment to a motion is there any situation where the amendment isn't put to a vote? A member who made a motion claimed that the amendment was 'friendly' so therefore we didn't have to vote on the amendment. 2. Once a motion is seconded can the member who made the motion withdraw it? It can be withdrawn unilaterally prior to the chair stating the question - which puts the motion before the assembly for consideration. After it has been placed before the assembly the maker can move to withdraw the motion. A majority vote or unanimous consent is required.
