Hieu H. Huynh Posted October 15, 2015 at 01:46 AM Report Share Posted October 15, 2015 at 01:46 AM I think it's a good idea to read the minutes before approving them. If the minutes were sent to the members in advance, you could omit reading them aloud unless a member requests it.
Guest Curious Posted October 15, 2015 at 01:50 AM Report Share Posted October 15, 2015 at 01:50 AM I second Mr. Huynh's recommendation to send the minutes out in advance and avoid reading them at the meeting. Otherwise, you can dispense with the reading of the minutes by majority vote, but that only puts off the reading and approval to another time. Josh Martin Posted October 15, 2015 at 01:32 PM Report Share Posted October 15, 2015 at 01:32 PM Can the reading of 9 months worth of minutes be skipped by the forumWhy are there nine months worth of minutes to read in the first place? The assembly could keep putting it off, but you're going to need to approve the minutes eventually. As Mr. Huynh suggests, the minutes can be approved without reading them if they are distributed in advance, provided that no member requests that they be read.
