Guest yalex00 Posted February 8, 2016 at 04:50 PM Report Share Posted February 8, 2016 at 04:50 PM At our last meeting, our Board requested information on a specific subject. We were not able to obtain any of the information yet, so we did not add it to the next board agenda, as there is nothing to report. One of our Board Member's claims that this is a violation of Robert's Rules of Order. I do not see how he is coming to that conclusion. Any information on where I could look for something like that? George Mervosh Posted February 8, 2016 at 05:05 PM Report Share Posted February 8, 2016 at 05:05 PM I have no clue what he's talking about. Ask him to produce a citation to support his position, but don't hold your breath.
Guest Posted February 8, 2016 at 05:16 PM Report Share Posted February 8, 2016 at 05:16 PM Thank you. I did ask and his response was that I should know. I thought that he was wrong, but thought I'd check. I appreciate your help.
Dan Honemann Posted February 8, 2016 at 05:31 PM Report Share Posted February 8, 2016 at 05:31 PM If your organization has adopted Robert's Rules of Order as its parliamentary authority, and if your board meets at least as often as quarterly, why is your board adopting an agenda for any of its meetings? Gary Novosielski Posted February 9, 2016 at 03:37 AM Report Share Posted February 9, 2016 at 03:37 AM And who is this "we" and what is "our" relationship to the board? 10 hours ago, Guest yalex00 said: At our last meeting, our Board requested information on a specific subject. It is up to the person who makes the claim to supply the citation. If it violates RONR, he should be able to supply the page and line number where the rule can be found. I'll bet nobody here can see how he is coming to that conclusion either. So it doesn't matter where you look for something like that, you won't be able to find it. And more to the point, neither will he.
