TaraLee Posted May 25, 2016 at 04:36 PM Report Share Posted May 25, 2016 at 04:36 PM We have a board of 15 people, each with 3 year terms. The board meets quarterly. At the end of the last year, our board adopted a (controversial) motion. After that, 5 board members left and a new 5 members came on. Now, one of the new members wants to rescind that previous motion. While I know that the motion to Rescind Something Previously Adopted allows for a majority vote with prior notice, would the fact that this is a "new" board mean that this motion could now be made by majority vote without prior notice? Thank you!

DrEntropy Posted May 25, 2016 at 08:13 PM Report Share Posted May 25, 2016 at 08:13 PM Note though that a majority vote of the entire membership (RONR p306) will also suffice, and might be easier to achieve depending on attendance of your board members.
