Procedure to Remove Chair of a Board

Hi,

My student government has a Finance Board consisting of seven members, who in the fall vote among themselves to elect one member Chair of the body. Much has changed since that initial vote now that we are entering the spring, and there is a consensus among the majority that we are interested in ousting the Chair - not from the board completely but from his position of power - in favor of a different member. We have legitimate reasons for desiring this.

In essence, there are a few ways I suppose you could look at our endeavor. We are trying to, in one way, remove an officer from a position at least partially - but perhaps a better description would be to revote or recall them. Our organization's constitution and bylaws do not seem to indicate a formal process by which to do this, so we default to Robert's Rules of Order.

how might we go about this?
