Guest Murray Posted February 3, 2017 at 04:40 AM Report Share Posted February 3, 2017 at 04:40 AM Can a treasurer or secretary move their own report be adopted, or must someone else call for the report to be adopted as read.
Joshua Katz Posted February 3, 2017 at 04:53 AM Report Share Posted February 3, 2017 at 04:53 AM Neither should be adopted as read, unless you're referring to the minutes. As to the minutes, the procedure is for the chair to ask for corrections, and, if none, to declare the minutes adopted.
Guest Who's Coming to Dinner Posted February 3, 2017 at 04:27 PM Report Share Posted February 3, 2017 at 04:27 PM Reports are received merely by being presented to the assembly. Adopting a report means that the assembly endorses every single word, every fact, and every bit of reasoning. This is usually not what is desired. A motion to adopt the recommendations of a report may be made by a member other than the presenting officer.
