PeggiW Posted August 17, 2017 at 03:51 PM Report Share Posted August 17, 2017 at 03:51 PM Our dog breed club sent timely notice for the annual meeting which is being held during our national show. . We are now 7 days from the meeting day. Is there a procedure to change the time for the meeting to 2 hours earlier? Bylaws provide: Section 1. Annual Meeting. The Annual Meeting of the Club shall be held during the three (3) month period of August, September and October, in conjunction with the Club’s Specialty Show if possible, in a place, date and hour designated by the Board of Directors. Written notice of the Annual Meeting shall be mailed by the Corresponding Secretary to each member at least thirty (30) days prior to the date of the meeting. The quorum for the Annual Meeting shall be 10% of the members in good standing.
jstackpo Posted August 17, 2017 at 03:59 PM Report Share Posted August 17, 2017 at 03:59 PM I'd say no. Once the Board has set, and the CorSec has sent out the 30-day notice, that's it. People have planned for that time.
George Mervosh Posted August 17, 2017 at 04:12 PM Report Share Posted August 17, 2017 at 04:12 PM I agree with Dr. Stackpole. If the meeting starts before the appointed time I'd suggest you'll have an issue with the rights of absentees who aren't present before that time.
