Guest Kim Martin Posted November 4, 2017 at 04:40 PM Report Share Posted November 4, 2017 at 04:40 PM My organizations bylaws allows for the President to be an ex-officio member of all state level committees. Is it appropriate if he delegates that authority to another officer? If so, that person would have the same rights as he would, correct? Gary Novosielski Posted November 4, 2017 at 04:48 PM Report Share Posted November 4, 2017 at 04:48 PM If the bylaws specify that the president is a member, that does not imply that the membership is transferrable to someone else, unless that's explicitly stated. Richard Brown Posted November 4, 2017 at 05:27 PM Report Share Posted November 4, 2017 at 05:27 PM I agree with Mr. Novosielski. Unless the bylaws specify otherwise, the ex-officio membership is personal to the president and is not "transferable" to anyone else.
