Rescinding a resignation

Hello,

Hoping for some help here.  I am secretary on the board of a non-profit organization.  Recently our President offered to step down in that position to take a staff position that needed to be manned.  The board then named her an ex-officio member and assigned an interim President until a special election could be held in the summer.  The (now) former President found that this position was not going to work out and asked to rescind her resignation and the current interim is not in favor of this,  Would this need to be sent back for a board vote as a new vote? Or is this even possible?  Time frame is 2 weeks, if it helps.

Thank you for any advice!!

"ACTIONS THAT CANNOT BE RESCINDED OR AMENDED. The motions to Rescind and to Amend Something Previously Adopted are not in order under the following circumstances:

c)    When a resignation has been acted upon, or a person has been elected to or expelled from membership or office, and the person was present or has been officially notified of the action."

RONR (11th ed.), p. 308

That is the rule in RONR.  So it does not appear that the resignation can be rescinded based upon your stated facts.
