It depends. Please answer the following questions:

  • Do your bylaws say anything about removal? If so, what?
  • How was this person elected to the board to begin with?
  • Which of the following most closely matches the term of office in the bylaws? (Two is used as an example, your term of office may be longer or shorter.)
    • “Two years.”
    • “Two years and until their successor are elected.”
    • ”Two years or until their successors are elected.”
