Guest Chris Posted May 22, 2019 at 08:02 PM Report Share Posted May 22, 2019 at 08:02 PM Our secretary has refused to answer queries via phone text and email by our president. She has also not completed her duties in a timely or efficient fashion. She has had some illness but has not responded to any queries if that was why she would not respond to the president. When our current board meeting notice went out she said she would attend how do we handle her abandonment of duties correctly
Benjamin Geiger Posted May 22, 2019 at 08:08 PM Report Share Posted May 22, 2019 at 08:08 PM Assuming your bylaws don't say anything on the matter, you may find RONR FAQ #20 of interest.
Guest Zev Posted May 22, 2019 at 08:30 PM Report Share Posted May 22, 2019 at 08:30 PM Some societies have several categories of secretaries each one with a different set of responsibilities. Perhaps this should be considered. Also, I would find someone she considers her friend to pay a visit and discover the reason why she cannot discharge all of her duties and try to work out a solution. There is still the possibility that she wants to contribute but circumstances are preventing her.
