Chris Harrison Posted May 30, 2019 at 03:04 AM Report Share Posted May 30, 2019 at 03:04 AM You need to use parliamentary procedure in order to run a meeting as much as you need an operating system to operate a computer. No operating system means you get absolutely nothing. You don't even get the "Blue Screen of Death".
Atul Kapur Posted May 30, 2019 at 03:43 AM Report Share Posted May 30, 2019 at 03:43 AM Parliamentary procedure refers to the general parliamentary law (which Robert's Rules of Order Newly Revised has specified and presented in a logical system, aka "codified") plus any other rules of order that your group has adopted. So, as the earlier responses have said in other ways, adopting RONR means, by definition, that you have decided and agreed to use parliamentary procedure in your meetings.
