Committee Chair

Hello,

In an organization,  is there a rule limiting a member's appointment as Committee Chair or Committee member? Can a member be a multiple Committee Chair (co-chair)?

There are no restrictions on any of the above in RONR . The only restriction is that for non-members to be appointed to a committee, they must have the approval of the assembly.

RONR does suggest, however, that co-chairs are not a good idea, p.176.  And here are some reasons why...

In some organizations there may be, but I don't know if there is in yours.

In RONR, there is no such rule.  One person may be a member of, or even chair, more than one committee.

Do your bylaws authorize having a thing called a "co-chair"?  RONR does not.
