Guest Lesley Gordon Posted November 5, 2019 at 11:05 PM Report Share Posted November 5, 2019 at 11:05 PM there is a member of our board, with one year left in their term, who would like to run for a two year position up for election this year. Question is this, does the board member need to resign their current position in order to run for a different position on the board. We have alternating two year terms off office. Up for election this year are president, secretary and two directors.

Guest jstackpo Posted November 5, 2019 at 11:58 PM Report Share Posted November 5, 2019 at 11:58 PM So, they can -- should they loose -- return to their former position on the board?
jstackpo Posted November 6, 2019 at 12:14 AM Report Share Posted November 6, 2019 at 12:14 AM Not exactly -- they would resign their former position if (and only if) they won the election; so the just remain in their current office if they lose. Atul Kapur Posted November 6, 2019 at 05:07 AM Report Share Posted November 6, 2019 at 05:07 AM They could possibly keep both positions unless they conflict or the bylaws prohibit that situation. That person only has one vote, no matter how many positions they hold.
