Guest K Allen Posted December 12, 2019 at 09:49 PM Report Share Posted December 12, 2019 at 09:49 PM If a motion is made to add an item to the committee agenda and there is no second, does the motion die for lack of a second? If a motion is made to add an item to the committee agenda and is seconded, but the vote is a tie, does the motion die? the committee consists of 4 members. No. Motions need not be seconded in a committee. So if a motion is made, it must be considered unless it is out of order for some reason. 3 minutes ago, Guest K Allen said: If a motion is made to add an item to the committee agenda and is seconded, but the vote is a tie, does the motion die? the committee consists of 4 members. A tie vote defeats the motion.

Seconds aren't necessary in committees. 9 minutes ago, Guest K Allen said: If a motion is made to add an item to the committee agenda and is seconded, but the vote is a tie, does the motion die? It doesn't "die"; it just is not adopted. Edited December 12, 2019 at 09:58 PM by Weldon Merritt Correct typo
