Guest hsiegling Posted December 15, 2019 at 02:23 AM Report Share Posted December 15, 2019 at 02:23 AM What is the process when a person asks from the floor that we not proceed with a voice vote; rather, that the vote be handled by secret ballot? Thank you!

Rob Elsman Posted December 15, 2019 at 02:33 AM Report Share Posted December 15, 2019 at 02:33 AM Up until the first vote is cast, a member may make an incidental motion to take the vote by secret ballot. The motion requires a second, is not debatable, is amendable (to modify the proposed method of voting to a different one), and requires a majority vote for adoption. I realize the original post is not asking about it, but it is also possible for a member to make the incidental motion immediately after the result of a voice vote has been announced.
