Reading Treausures Rept at meetings

Question - does the Treasurer's report per Robert Rules - need to be read at a business meeting?  Or can a paper be handed out to the members with this info, there are 40 plus who attend?  Then should it be in the minutes as well?

Currently we read the report after the President asks for it and it is then included in the minutes.

Thank you

There is no requirement that it be read and it doesn't need to be included in the minutes.  RONR simply notes "At each meeting of a society, the chair may ask for a "Treasurer's report," which may consist simply of a verbal statement of the cash balance on hand—or of this balance less outstanding obligations. Such a report requires no action by the assembly. "  RONR (11th ed.), p. 477

(But I've never encountered a group that doesn't have some portions of it read.  Maybe I need to get out more)
