Tomm Posted February 18, 2020 at 01:54 AM Report Share Posted February 18, 2020 at 01:54 AM We just held a disciplinary meeting in executive session. How and when are the minutes of that meeting approved?
Chris Harrison Posted February 18, 2020 at 01:59 AM Report Share Posted February 18, 2020 at 01:59 AM They should be approved at the normal time that minutes are approved. However, since the meeting was in Executive Session the minutes should be also approved in Executive Session.
Tomm Posted February 18, 2020 at 03:16 AM Author Report Share Posted February 18, 2020 at 03:16 AM Are you inferring that they can only be approved in another executive session?
Joshua Katz Posted February 18, 2020 at 03:18 AM Report Share Posted February 18, 2020 at 03:18 AM That is correct. And, anticipating the question that usually comes up, the minutes of that, presumably very short, executive session, are approved during that same session. Yes, presuming it is desired to keep the contents of those minutes secret. If nothing but discussion took place during the executive session then it's possible the minutes contain nothing but the motion to come back out. But if there's anything there that needs continued secrecy you'll need to go into executive session to approve them.
