pamela.stemberg@gmail.com Posted July 4, 2020 at 12:50 PM Report Share Posted July 4, 2020 at 12:50 PM (edited) Our organization needed to fill a vacant position. Our By-Laws state that only the Delegate Assembly can vote to fill a vacancy and that the entire membership is not eligible to vote to fill a vacancy. The person who was elected was unable to vote in their own election since they were not a member of the delegate assembly. Can a person be elected to a position that they cannot vote for? Are only members of the delegate assembly eligible to run for the position if they are the only people who can vote for it? Dan Honemann Posted July 4, 2020 at 02:59 PM Report Share Posted July 4, 2020 at 02:59 PM As far as the rules in RONR are concerned, the answer to your first question is "yes", and the answer to your second question is "no."
