Guest Gdhoot Posted January 27, 2021 at 02:33 AM Report Posted January 27, 2021 at 02:33 AM Is it proper to have a Board member resign from a Board and then a week later rescind the resignation. What are the exposures to the Board that brings that person back Quote

What are the exposures to the Board that brings that person back RONR permits an officer (or a member) to rescind a tendered resignation as long as no action has yet been taken on it. Unless your bylaws provide to the contrary, a resignation is not effective until it is accepted by the organization. It can be rescinded as long as no action has been taken on it. The question as to the exposure to the board is a legal question that is beyond the scope of this forum, other than that from a parliamentary standpoint it is as if the resignation was never submitted.
