Guest Chris Rivera Posted January 27, 2021 at 04:09 AM Report Posted January 27, 2021 at 04:09 AM We are voting electronically with about 80 eligible members in our association. Since we can’t MAKE them vote, how many members need to cast votes in order for the election to be valid? Quote

Unless your bylaws specify otherwise, in order for someone to be elected all he needs is a majority of the votes cast. If only one person votes and he votes for candidate A, then candidate A is elected. You ignore abstentions because they are not votes. Quote
Dan Honemann Posted January 27, 2021 at 12:08 PM Report Posted January 27, 2021 at 12:08 PM I suspect that Guest Rivera may be under the impression that, since voting is taking place electronically (in some fashion), the presence of a quorum is dependent upon the number of members voting. Quote
