kelexecdir Posted February 23, 2021 at 11:48 PM Report Posted February 23, 2021 at 11:48 PM I am the Executive Director at a nonprofit organization. Our Treasurer is suddenly asking that our Staff Accountant present the financials in board meetings instead of doing it herself. The Treasurer says that she is being asked this by members of the finance committee. Shouldn't the Treasurer be the one presenting the monthly financial statements which are what makes up the Treasurer's report? Please give me sound reasons if you have them. I have to head this off tomorrow morning. Thank you! Quote
Joshua Katz Posted February 24, 2021 at 12:19 AM Report Posted February 24, 2021 at 12:19 AM Only members of the board have the right to participate in board meetings. The board may allow the staff accountant to speak as part of the treasurer's report if it wishes. One would expect the treasurer to give the treasurer's report, yes; it's in the name. Quote
