Guest JOAnn Hankemeyer Posted September 16, 2021 at 01:02 AM Report Share Posted September 16, 2021 at 01:02 AM If a club hasn't had an audit in quite a few years and it is stated in the by laws it should be done yearly. What is the best way to go about this and who would be the best person to do this
Joshua Katz Posted September 16, 2021 at 01:19 AM Report Share Posted September 16, 2021 at 01:19 AM I'm not entirely sure what you're asking. It doesn't seem to be a procedural question, so it's unlikely RONR can help you. I can't tell you who the best person to audit your books is, but I would suggest an auditing or accounting firm. Your organization will need to choose one and engage them. You should also have an audit committee to communicate the audit results to the membership. Rob Elsman Posted September 16, 2021 at 01:22 AM Report Share Posted September 16, 2021 at 01:22 AM Some societies have an Audit Committee with power to obtain the services of a professional auditor to perform the examination. In very small societies, the Audit Committee may perform the examination, itself. The committee should prepare a report to present to the general membership assembly. The presentation is often made at the society's annual meeting.
