Current secretary will no longer be a member in our reorganization meeting-how do we set agenda so that they are not present throughout the entire meeting?

We will be having our reorganizational meeting and per our bylaws, only committee members may be present during our meetings.
The current secretary(who is no longer on the committee bc they did not pass petitions) will be present to take the roll and read the minutes, but once we appoint an interim secretary, how can we get the current secretary to leave the meeting? Can we suspend the meeting, allowing the person to physically leave or what?
This person has been detrimental and disruptive to our organization and I foresee them causing problems during this meeting.

You say the “current” secretary IS no longer on the committee. If not a member, that person presumably should not be there, absent some permission given. So don’t give it.

You also suggest the current secretary needs to be there to call the roll and read minutes. Someone else could do that, or you could elect a new (interim) secretary prior to those items.

If at any point it’s discovered that a non-member is in attendance without permission, simply explain that fact and invite the person to leave. If you anticipate rough stuff, perhaps have some folks on hand who’ll help this person find the exit.

In any case, it’s unclear to me, due to terms such as current and interim, whether or not this person is now a member, or a secretary.

Thanks, Tom for responding.
This person is, as I said, a problem.  They are not a member currently according to our bylaws bc they did not pass petitions and should have stepped down as secretary, but have not.  We have not had a meeting during the time frame after they did not pass petitions and I did not find out that they did not pass petitions  until last month.
It’s one of these situations were someone has been controlling everything and things have been functioning—not well, but functioning and now that there have been a number of officer resignations, the cat’s out of the bag and all sorts of problems are coming to light.

Do your rules require the secretary to be a member? If so, then this person stopped being secretary when they stopped being a member, and there is no need to wait until they "step down".

You say that "per our bylaws, only committee members may be present during our meetings". In that case, the non-member is not entitled to attend your meeting. If that is the case, why would this person even be given notice of the meeting? If this person shows up, why would your organization allow them entrance?
