New chair amend agenda?

In our meetings agendas must be sent in advance. We follow Robert Rules. When we elect a new chair for the year at the start of the meeting can the new majority and new chair on the committee amend the agenda at the start of the meeting by majority vote. I assume so but just curious because amending an agenda seems to conflict with sending an agena in advance.

The answer to this question involves the interpretation of a rule we have not seen. Nothing in Robert's Rules prevents amending an agenda, but nothing in Robert's Rules (generally) requires sending an agenda in advance.

Amending an agenda does not necessarily conflict with sending an agenda in advance. While in some societies an agenda is sent in advance and is indeed intended to provide that no other business shall be conducted, in other cases the agenda set in advance is solely for information, and is not intended to prevent the agenda from being amended or from the assembly considering business not listed on the agenda.
