Guest Tracy Posted February 25, 2023 at 04:17 PM Report Share Posted February 25, 2023 at 04:17 PM When does an approved appointment by a board of commissioners take effect? Is it immediately or when the minutes are approved. I believe it is immediately, but my boss says it's once the minutes are approved. Thank you! While I concur with Dr. Kapur so far as the rules of RONR are concerned, the reference to a "board of commissioners" makes me wonder if this is a public body of some sort. If that is the case, it may well be that the board's rules and/or applicable law provide for a later effective date.
Atul Kapur Posted February 26, 2023 at 01:14 AM Report Share Posted February 26, 2023 at 01:14 AM Perhaps, but the alternative given was "once the minutes are approved." The approval of the minutes only indicates that they have been approved as an accurate record of what occurred. Nothing that was done needs to wait for approval of the minutes to be enacted.
