Appeal vs Point of Order

Would a motion to appeal or a point of order be made so that the chair would be called on to enforce a violated rule?

You would start with raising a point of order, and the chair should then determine whether the point of order is or is not well taken.  Any two members can then appeal from the chair's ruling (one to appeal and the other one to second the appeal).  Appeals are usually debatable but subject to special rules, and it requires a majority vote to overturn the ruling of the chair.
