Richard Brown Posted March 22, 2023 at 08:56 PM Report Share Posted March 22, 2023 at 08:56 PM Yes, the letter of resignation (or verbal resignation if it is done in a meeting) can specify the date and time at which it will become effective. A resignation letter may specify a future effective date. This is not uncommon. A resignation must ultimately be approved by the assembly authorized to fill the resulting vacancy, so the ultimate "effective date" will either be the date on which the resignation is accepted or the date specified in the resignation, whichever is later.
