Guest jake Posted May 1, 2023 at 02:38 AM Report Share Posted May 1, 2023 at 02:38 AM Our bylaws are silent on election nomination rules other than conducting out meetings and order of business by Roberts rule of order. Can we make rules and procedures for nominations Such as when we can take nominations and deadlines for those nominations. example would be like; No nominations the day of election meeting or nominations need to be in by a specified date before election. Can we specify any qualifications for candidates. example; ability to attend monthly meetings in persons since we have a lot of part time residents. Gary Novosielski Posted May 1, 2023 at 04:25 AM Report Share Posted May 1, 2023 at 04:25 AM Yes, you can, but your bylaws currently say you should follow RONR. So to enact those rules you would need to amend your bylaws. And of course it makes sense not be adopting rules that supersede those in RONR until you fully understand the rules that are in RONR first.
