Guest Erika Honeycutt Posted June 7, 2023 at 03:50 AM Report Share Posted June 7, 2023 at 03:50 AM I'm trying to calculate the percentage of a 2/3 vote. The votes were 11 to 6.
Mike Phillips Posted June 7, 2023 at 04:47 AM Report Share Posted June 7, 2023 at 04:47 AM 2/3 is 66-2/3% In your case, there were 17 voters. 2/3 of 17 voters is 11-1/3 voters. That number has to be rounded up to 12. The vote failed.
Gary Novosielski Posted June 7, 2023 at 04:49 AM Report Share Posted June 7, 2023 at 04:49 AM No, 11-6 does not meet the threshold for 2/3. The quick way to test for 2/3 is--the Yes votes must be at least double the number of No votes. So 12-6 would pass, but 11-6 does not.
