Motion to ask for resignation

If the board wishes to ask board member 1 to resign, does it require a motion to pass (to ask Member 1 to resign) or can Member 2 talk to Member 1 on the side and ask Member 1 to consider submitting a resignation?

If Member 1 does not wish to resign, then the board is willing to go through the removal processes as outlined in the bylaws.

If the board wishes to decide to do anything, it requires a motion to pass.  That is how decisions are made.

If a member wishes to Meet "on the side" with anyone, RONR has nothing to say on the matter.

It might be wise not to threaten someone with consequences if they fail to do what you wish.

If you think there are grounds to for removal, then begin the process as appropriate.  The member will then decide to resign or not.
