Guest Kim Goldsworthy Posted April 6, 2010 at 06:08 AM Report Share Posted April 6, 2010 at 06:08 AM H, Unknown. If your committee was NOT create via a motion, then there must be a rule (a customized rule!) involved. And therefore, someone must READ the rule. -kg "

Guest H Posted April 6, 2010 at 04:18 PM Report Share Posted April 6, 2010 at 04:18 PM The by-laws state that it is the job of the second VP to conduct nominations. My group was set up by the first VP and presented at the March meeting (where we went ahead and took nominations). Nothing was said at the meeting about there being a problem. Guest Kim Goldsworthy Posted April 6, 2010 at 05:57 PM Report Share Posted April 6, 2010 at 05:57 PM H, There is no violation. There is no mistake to correct. It's apples and oranges. A rule which says, "it is the job of the 2nd VP to conduct nominations" has NOTHING to do with a 1st VP creating a nominating committee. "
Guest H Posted April 6, 2010 at 07:18 PM Report Share Posted April 6, 2010 at 07:18 PM so are we still a committee? Do we complete our task and then give the slate to the 2nd VP?"
Guest Gary c Tesser Posted April 7, 2010 at 06:25 PM Report Share Posted April 7, 2010 at 06:25 PM Again, what rule allowed the 1st VP to create the nominating committee? And is there any rule that allows the president to do any disbanding at all? (I don't understand Mr Goldsworthy's position.)"
Guest John M. Posted April 9, 2010 at 02:24 PM Report Share Posted April 9, 2010 at 02:24 PM >>so are we still a committee?<< Unless the 1st Vice President has the authority to appoint the nominating committee you were never a committee to begin with. Your Bylaws should state how the nominating committee is appointed"
