At the same meeting the motion could be "Reconsidered".

At a later meeting, a lost (defeated) motion could be "Renewed" and an adopted (passed) motion could probably be "Rescinded" or otherwise amended (changed)."

Several times now I have seen this wording, that at a later meeting, an adopted motion can be rescinded or amended. Is it really out of order to rescind or amend a motion at the same meeting at which it was adopted?"

No. However, if you do that you would need a 2/3 vote or a majority of the ENTIRE membership since previous notice couldn't be given."
