Kim Goldsworthy Posted June 16, 2010 at 08:17 PM Report Share Posted June 16, 2010 at 08:17 PM May The President of a corporation be a member of the Nominations' Committee?Yes. No parliamentary rule is violated were the appointing power to name the president to the nominations committee. Thus, if your bylaws were to authorized your president to appoint the Nom. Comm., then no rule in Robert's Rules of Order Newly Revised (RONR 10th ed.) is violated if your P names himself as one of the sitting members of the Nom. Comm. - Or even as its chairman! But RONR does warn against this practice. See page 419.I think the reasons are obvious, and multifold. - See "nepotism" and "cronyism" in the dictionary.
