Guest Jan Posted June 16, 2010 at 02:14 PM Report Share Posted June 16, 2010 at 02:14 PM Our organization's fiscal year runs from July 1 through June 30th. We have a Board meeting the 3rs Turesday of every month. New Board members are elected at the May meeting. In June the new Board members come to the Board meeting and at the very end of the meeting all the members of the Board for the next year vote on the Executive Committee for the new year. Does the new Executive Committee take charge on July 1st or at the first official meeting in July?
Chris Harrison Posted June 16, 2010 at 02:22 PM Report Share Posted June 16, 2010 at 02:22 PM Unless your bylaws say otherwise officers take office upon election (RONR p. 430). However, it seems the bylaws may have something to say about it so you will need to look closely at those bylaws.
