emanningmiller Posted June 23, 2010 at 08:20 PM Report Share Posted June 23, 2010 at 08:20 PM Everyone in attendance at our Executive Board meeting last evening participated in voting on three motions. According to the bylaws only officers can vote. 15 people (officers and non officers)voted on the motion. There was only one no vote on one of the motions and the other two were passed unanimously. My question is can we just back out the vote of the non-officers and come up with a new vote number? The outcome on all three motions will be the same. Or, are the results void because we didn't follow the organization's bylaws.
Robert B Fish Posted June 23, 2010 at 08:23 PM Report Share Posted June 23, 2010 at 08:23 PM Neither. Since the votes of the non-eligible members did not affect the outcome in any of the situations and no point of order was raised at the time, the motions passed and the minutes should in each case, simply report , "the motion passed."-Bob
