Guest Brian Posted June 29, 2010 at 07:51 PM Report Share Posted June 29, 2010 at 07:51 PM We have a past president sitting as a co chair on a committee. A list of people were brought before the board /order of the president. These people will be paid to do various jobs. At the time of the meeting the co chair added his name to the list. We voted with him in the room, which made several people very uncomfortable and they voted for him. He also voted for himself. Is this legal? George Mervosh Posted June 29, 2010 at 07:55 PM Report Share Posted June 29, 2010 at 07:55 PM He has every right to be present and vote for himself. Seriously, who else would he vote for?Next time vote by ballot if it bothers everyone.

Rob Elsman Posted June 29, 2010 at 07:59 PM Report Share Posted June 29, 2010 at 07:59 PM No rule in RONR prohibits a member from nominating himself for election. Since his nomination is in common with others, it is perfectly proper for him to vote for himself.
