Kim Goldsworthy Posted July 8, 2010 at 02:55 AM Report Share Posted July 8, 2010 at 02:55 AM Are you asking a question about BOARD POWER (i.e., are they authorized to do such a thing)? Are you asking a question about the parliamentary procedure surrounding the act of rescinding an election?See you own bylaws for the powers granted to your board.See Chapter XX Section 61 in RONR for the specifics of rescinding an election of an officer. Josh Martin Posted July 8, 2010 at 11:37 PM Report Share Posted July 8, 2010 at 11:37 PM Can a board, by a simple majority, rescind an election which was held in accordance with the board's approved bylaws?Too many unknown variables here to know for sure. Was the board the body that elected the person? Is this an officer position? (Note that board members count as officers for this purpose). If so, how is the term of office in your Bylaws defined? Is the proposed rescission for disciplinary reasons?
