If an officer position is created to allow a person to hold office and that person fails to meet the qualifications of that office, he is of course not allowed to hold that office. Since the office was not a required position do we need to fill the office with another person or can we or must we just disolve the office with a simple motion?

You cannot create an office not created in the bylaws, unless the bylaws permit it.

The position is an option to be filled if desired per the bylaws, Since we no longer have a candidate we wont fill it. Do we make a motion not to fill it or do we recind the previous motion that created the opening?

If you have an option and nobody wants it, just don't fill it.
