Guest Peggy C Posted July 15, 2010 at 02:37 AM Report Share Posted July 15, 2010 at 02:37 AM Our By Laws do not spell out the procedure to expel a member. If the Board had authority they would most certainly do so. However, the Board plans to present to the general membership a recommendation to expel a member (the infracture is opening a ballot box with no authority to do so, phoning and campainging against the person being voted for new membership by using untrue and unfounded information). We do not intend to name the individual, and will make a motion and second, and open the situation to discussion. Then call the vote. Are we on the right track??? Are we on the right track???It is substantially more complicated and requires a trial an proper notification.I recommend both a parliamentarian and an attorney, experienced with with disciplinary action in private organizations, be hired prior to starting.
